Construction, completion and extension of sidewalks, paths, and trails for increased pedestrian and bike-able use are top initiatives
for me. We are an active community in Ward 3.
Investors in new developments should participate in this initiative. In addition, developers should take into consideration traffic safety for the residents in their development plans. For example - access to both entering and exiting their development - line of sight, signage and signalization, etc.
I was successful in getting a sidewalk “to nowhere” extended to a day care and church for the residents of Twin Chimney.
For the best interests of our residential streets and pedestrian safety, we need to adopt “flexible” and comprehensive traffic calming measures. Solutions must take into account the needs for a specific area and consider exceptions.
In addition, I want to minimize the impact of “Through Traffic” in residential neighborhoods.
